Our Dysport Injection Technique

Dysport injections typically take 15 – 30 minutes and are administered in one of our treatment rooms following your consultation with Dr. Ricks.

A numbing cream or local anesthetic is usually not needed because the injections are made using a fine needle that causes minimal pain, but it can be requested. The skin will be cleaned, and five carefully placed Dysport injections will be administered across the brow, followed by a cold compress to minimize bruising and swelling. Following your injections at Ciao Bella Medical Spa, you may perform regular tasks, but you should try to avoid strenuous activities for at least a day.

Dysport Recovery

Following a Dysport session, you may notice mild redness and swelling around the injection sites, but this generally will disappear within a few days.

You should sleep upright for the first night and continue to apply cold compresses as needed. Improvements are often noticeable in 1 –3 days as the appearance of your frown lines is decreased for a smoother, softer appearance.
